How to start and register a business in Texas as a Mexican entrepreneur.
Starting a Business in Texas
Texas is one of the most business-friendly states in the US, with no state income tax and a thriving startup ecosystem in Austin.
Business Structure
Most startups choose an LLC or C-Corp. An LLC is simpler and more flexible. A C-Corp is standard if you plan to raise venture capital.
Registration
Register with the Texas Secretary of State. You'll need a registered agent with a Texas address. You can file online.
Banking
Open a US business bank account. You'll need your EIN (Employer Identification Number) from the IRS, articles of organization, and identification.
Support
EGBI Austin offers free business incubation services for Hispanic entrepreneurs. Capital Factory provides startup resources and workspace.
